[Ben’s background — e.g. “I’ve spent the last decade in content and marketing, and I’ve watched AI go from a novelty to the center of how we all work.”] Somewhere along the way I got tired of “best AI tools” articles that clearly nobody had actually used — the same recycled feature lists, the same affiliate links, none of the truth about what it’s like to live with these tools day to day.
So I started BenPicks to do the thing those articles don’t: actually use the software, on real work, long enough to have an opinion worth trusting.
What we believe
You deserve a real verdict. A tool is either worth your money and time or it isn’t. Our job is to tell you which, clearly, and to be honest about the trade-offs.
Testing beats trialing. Anyone can sign up for a free trial and screenshot the dashboard. We use tools for weeks on genuine projects, push them until they break, and report what we find.
Independence is the whole point. We make money through affiliate links, like most review sites. The difference is that no commission, sponsorship, or vendor relationship can buy a better verdict or a Ben’s Pick. If the cheaper tool wins, the cheaper tool wins.
The team behind the Picks
BenPicks is a small, independent team. [team names/roles — e.g. “Alongside me, X handles…”]. We also work with [tester count] specialist testers — real practitioners who use these tools in their own work — so our reviews reflect how a tool performs in different hands, not just mine. Every tester is paid for their time and free to reach their own conclusions.
The promise
We’ll only ever recommend a tool we’d genuinely use ourselves. We’ll always tell you who a tool isn’t for. And we’ll always show you our work — the screenshots, the outputs, the real experience behind the rating.
